[Calm. This place is calm. Not necessarily happy all the time, but serene and contemplative. It has the air of a Zen garden.]
[The first thing that the dreamer sees is an endless sea of soft purple light, which slowly rises up to engulf everything. Then it clears...and the dreamer is sitting on a hillside in the fresh air overlooking a vast gulf of space. Purple light surrounds everything here: faint sparkles around earth and stone, bright glimmers in the trees, and whole shining nimbuses around the dreamers and anyone with them.]
[The light, strangely enough, is interconnected, especially between members of the same species. The network of sapient beings spreads out in the gulf like an endless sea of interconnected stars. Every person bears these streamers of light, usually emanating from the chest area, and linking to others--even the bodiless images of those passed on. Some ties are strong and bright; others ephemeral and dying.]
[Arkady sits on the hillside with her back to the visitors, contemplating the light quietly.]

I wonder if this is how the Dreamer sees things.

If it is too personal a question I understand.

Date: 2012-05-26 12:21 am (UTC)As a child it was...well...there was no one to teach us, so we never fully understood how far we could go. It was all a learning process, you know, picking knowledge out of people's minds and slowly developing our skills. I think I had an inkling starting around the age of ten. Humans and their cousins...we stay rather helpless for a long while.

Date: 2012-05-27 08:55 am (UTC)Oh dear, I know. It's amazing to me how so many of your children even make it to adulthood. You are clever mortals, but so are many other races that have not survived.
