A very clever fellow I met recently posed the question: why is there no live music in the pub? Perhaps we can fix this. Do we have any musicians on board whom I can lure out of the closet?

[Arkady is humming as she wanders around, putting single daisies in bud vases on the tables between serving drinks. She seems just a little dreamy and spaced out, and teleports more than usual to get around the room, forgetting herself. La la la...]

[Iroh makes his way in quietly enough, making no attempt to attract Arkady's attention, installing himself in a corner rather than going to the bar for his customary order of ginseng tea or (less often) rice wine - because tonight he's here equipped with a Chinese lute for a slightly different purpose. He only takes a moment to tune up before starting to play sedately.]

[When she is done with her rounds, she gets a teapot heating in case he gets thirsty and sits nearby to listen. This is more of what she's used to back home: one fellow volunteering his time and music for the other.

[Although not as comfortable as he is with the tsungi horn, he's experienced enough with the instrument that something slow and simple doesn't demand his full attention; when he becomes aware that the movements around the pub have slowed, he looks up to see her sitting close by and smiles.]

I had the privilege of witnessing a very sweet and hopeful point in my parallel's life. And that of the man she loves. It was a bit like a lovely vacation.

Well...the pub seems to be a universal sort of institution on all worlds. People come for various reasons: drink, socialize or unload on the bartender. It's just in a lot of people's grain to stop by a place like this, though many will claim it's just for the alcohol.

Besides, it lets me get my mother-henning out.
