lastvoyages: Spam for Greenhouse

[A pair of Rhode Island Red chickens in bright blue cloth diapers march around the floor of the greenhouse. Arkady sits just under the rotunda in Lotus. The lights are dimmed to night-cycle, but soft purple light emanates--from her, for she is deep in meditation, her mind expanded to take in the overwhelming panorama of possible futures and worlds spread ahead of them. On the Barge, there have been so many possibilities that predicting the future is almost impossible, but that is no excuse to miss practice. She loves the changes to the greenhouse, and though she can't quite enjoy them in her current state, she's happy enough that they will be there when she opens her eyes.]
[She senses the minds on the Deck and withdraws slightly, dodging away from investigating their thoughts. She gets lonely sometimes, stuck within the confines of his own mind, but it is a small price to pay for the opportunities here.]

Date: 2012-03-10 07:25 am (UTC)Hello! Oh hello! Who are you?
[On the heels of that a small package of information: her name, appearance, and a brief view from inside the Greenhouse--which inexplicably involves chickens.]

Date: 2012-03-10 07:31 am (UTC)Charles Xavier. I'm a warden. [And he sends back his own information, what he looks like and where he is, sort of distantly wondering about the chickens in a way she can likely pick up on the trail end of his thoughts.]

Date: 2012-03-10 05:22 pm (UTC)[Soft giggling down the link as she focuses briefly on the chickens. They needed a walk.]
I've been here perhaps eight months. The people are a mix of lovely and terrible. More lovely than terrible, though. Would you like to come in out of the cold?
SORRY THIS IS SO LATE BB <33
Date: 2012-03-22 01:53 am (UTC)And once he's wheeled himself into the greenhouse, he decides to ask out loud, just in case:]
"Would you prefer to continue verbally or telepathically?"
[See, look at him growing up, asking permission.]
worth the wait, NP. :)
Date: 2012-03-22 02:10 am (UTC)"If it's all the same to you I'd prefer the telepathic. The truth is that I've been alone in my mind for a bit too long. The Gallifreyans are superb telepaths, but they're intensely private."
[The rooster wanders up to Charles and peers at him boldly.]

I'm certainly alright with it, it's not often I get to talk with someone like this. I'd only ever met one telepath before coming here, and she wasn't exactly friendly.

[The rooster wanders up to inspect the newcomer. Bok.]

Date: 2012-03-11 11:37 am (UTC)Oh no, I love company. And there was simply too much information to sort through again. [Arkady stands up with a smile.]

Date: 2012-03-10 05:12 pm (UTC)[The chickens, on the other hand...well. There is a downside to having an affinity for animals.]
[Sir Bertie is somewhat misnamed, for instead of being a bit of a failnoble and timid, he's bold, forward and into everything. So Riddick now has a diapered rooster quietly following him. 'sup?]

Date: 2012-03-10 05:26 pm (UTC)So it's more amusing than anything, until it tries to get pushy, and he turns around and squats down to look at it.]

Date: 2012-03-10 05:52 pm (UTC)[At this the purple light dims out and Arkady breaks into soft giggles.] Oh no. Bertie--sorry, do you want him off of you?

Date: 2012-03-10 05:54 pm (UTC)Nah. Unless he decides to try to chase me out. In which case I'ma eat him.

Date: 2012-03-11 11:41 am (UTC)No no, neither him nor me. I left the door unlocked for a reason.

Date: 2012-03-10 06:03 pm (UTC)Even with her powers diminished, the response when she walks in is obvious. The plants she touches surge with a new lease of life, throwing out new shoots, furled flowers coming into early bloom, even in the absence of 'sunlight'. The roots and leaves hum with chemical messages, the news of her presence sweeping its way silently around the space. There's a mutual surge of adoration - not just her for them, but they for her. Ivy pays no mind to the faint purple glow in the half-darkness, or the animal sounds, far more concerned with getting acquainted with the room's flora.

Date: 2012-03-15 05:18 am (UTC)Oh, why want visitors? Because this place isn't just for me, and it's the only warm spot on the deck. Besides, it really is lovely.
