For [livejournal.com profile] lastvoyages: Second Vision [video]

Um, hullo. There's rather a lot of nasty things happening. I was wondering if anyone just needed someone neutral who is a good listener to talk at for a while. I'm available, and I'll keep things in confidence.  If you have a Warden you should probably confide in them first, but...my ears work too, and a good number of people either don't have Wardens or are Wardens. So...the offer's open.

If you'd rather in person, we can meet somewhere. I can bring tea or coffee or beer or wine, and some of our lovely strawberries.

Does any department have any use for a teleporter? I can take two people with me and they do not have to be conscious. I could be a very good ambulance, for example.

Oh, squabbling. Yes, there is much of that at home too. I almost asked Crane if he needed someone to talk to. He snaps around at everyone like a fox with a wounded leg.

The sad thing is that I can tell it is needed just by the level of ambient sadness and desperation. But how to explain that in mundane terms?

I would think that it's almost loud enough for those without the senses necessary to feel it. [Oh he wishes there were English words for being able to sense those things.]

Pain...affects judgment...makes people stuck, harder for them to change, harder for them to grow. I saw a man today walking around under great anvil weights of pain, and they make him lash out so much. If the weight could be taken off of someone like that, how much faster could he work on what he needed to work on?

Honestly I think that this sort of work would make life easier for all the Wardens because it takes some of the weight off them even if what we're doing is treating their inmates. Wardens could burn out less. Inmates could graduate faster or have an easier time along the way.

That is part of the concern in approaching, actually. Weight eased. But certain wardens would rely too much on it, I fear. Rather than giving an inmate the security that they need.

Thus limits and requirements would have to be decided upon before hand.

Doctor...perhaps...

[She trails off, taking a moment to form her words.]

Perhaps when there is a Warden involved, we should negotiate specific goals with each one beforehand. For example. Say that you have an inmate who has terrible nightmares. The dreams won't budge, so you bring me in to assist with that specific problem. That way there is inherently no overuse.

Oh don't get me wrong. I realize that would be needed.

I'm... merely thinking ahead. In terms of standards. I've gotten used to the transient nature of this place- which I believe would be a common issue to address.

Anyway, at the moment it's a minor proposal. One that I know I couldn't manage on my own.

I will gladly help! Meanwhile I will try to meet more people so they learn I'm really the sort of person I claim to be.
