[Arkady looks...very tired. Her eyes are sunken and a little glazed, as if she hasn't slept. She has a pair of chickens on the couch with her, both hunkered down drowsy, and a somewhat large basket of eggs on her lap.]

Um...Lady Bertina's been busy lately, and I'm not sure I can eat all of these. Does anyone have a use for eggs?

[Arkady has seemed subdued these last few days, only making appearances during her shifts, and not being social much at all. She goes quietly about her duties in the pub, her usual cheery distractedness gone, but still bent on looking after people as best she can.

Anyway, I've decided now you've settled that I'm not assigning you any outside jobs unless you really want one. It's more important that you keep up on your academics anyway. The first assignment is literary criticism of some specific works.

[Iris is already well on the way to sozzled, but since she has to concentrate to stop her system clearing it before it affects her, she has a heroic capacity for alcohol.]

[When she arrives, she's visibly tired and still in some pain, though she's refusing to let it dent her cheerfulness. It shows in the way she sinks onto Arkady's couch, the economy of movement with which she shifts any stray chickens out of the way.]

Oh...well...[a weak smile as she pops the tea ball into the pot. Meanwhile the hen scoots back down as soon as Iris is settled and commences snuggling her leg. She has a purple diaper today.]

First I was an alien test subject. Then I had to hide during the truth flood because if I really spoke honestly to my Inmate about what I think of her she'd never trust me again. Finally one of my Clanmates showed up but I didn't get to talk to him. And the whole time--well, Touko's being an ass, Junko is a crazy bitch whom I know will do something horrible that will involve her soon enough, and I really...can't stand either of them.

[She sighs and grabs the kettle as it whistles.]

I just want to go home.

I don't know. There are a few people around who need to have an eye kept on them and I can't be everywhere at once.

I'm not sure I want to impose that on anyone else. The girl's an ass. She's also insane, and a mass murderer. And her "associate" from her world, Junko, is even worse. She should be locked up before she does something, but everyone would argue if I proposed that.

Honestly I hate my new assignment, and I'd be happy if I never had to see either of them again. Especially Junko.
